Pair of Lidded Deep Cobalt Blue Antique Vases with gold metal bronze base
French 1850-1899
The heavily gilded lids with gold metal/bronze elegant shaped knobs above heavily gilded slender throats above bulbous bodies, each decorated with a beautiful hand painted romantic scene of a gallant couple in landscape surrounded by a more heavily gilded decoration and flanked by very decorative bronze handles each upon a slender heavily gilded decorated foot, bolted onto a gold metal/bronze footed base.
On reverse, each is elaborately accented with a highly ornate and heavily gilded fleur-de-lis and flower design against cobalt blue ground.
Both vases have the Sevres blue under glaze marks on bottom and are signed in the hand painted scene by the artist, “Granet”
