John Harvey’s NYFD 14k Gold Veterans 20 years Service Medal/Pin Circa 1906
From extensive research it has led me to the conclusion that this pin belonged to John J. Harvey due to the incription on the reverse of the medal.
John J. Harvey was the first New York City fireboat named after a member of the department. Firefighter John J. Harvey was pilot of the steam fireboat Thomas Willett, assigned to Engine Co. 86 at Bloomfield Street in lower Manhattan.
This ship is of major importance to the city of New York, and came out of retirement to help during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
A true piece of American History. Weighs 16.3g
