KPM Porcelain Berlin Plaque- Portrait of Ergluht after Angelo Asti Signed Wagner
Circa 1875
This is a stunning example of a late 19th century Berlin KPM Plaque, painted by one their best artist, Wagner.
It is signed on front by the artist and marked on the reverse X (O) 5 K.P.M.
Also original partial paper label noting the #5.
This very plaque sold in Northeast Auctions on April 1, 2005 for $7360.
This is without the elaborate gold guilded antique frame and the shadow box in closer.
Angelo Asti from whom Wagner was inspired to paint this stunning portrait was an Italian/French painter (1847-1903).
He was also well known for his painting portraits of women.
