A substantial and finely executed American Brilliant Period cut glass water pitcher, circa 1876–1915, standing 9 inches tall and weighing an impressive 6 pounds 7 ounces — a remarkable weight that reflects the exceptional thickness and quality of the glass throughout. The tankard form features an applied faceted cut handle with notched edges above a sawtooth notched rim measuring 4 inches in diameter. The body is covered in an exceptionally dense and complex multi-motif cutting pattern combining hobstar clusters, pinwheel fans, crosshatch diamond panels and Russian star cuts with virtually no plain glass surface remaining — a hallmark of the finest quality ABP work. The wide splayed base measures 6 inches in diameter and features a deeply cut rayed starburst pattern. Excellent condition throughout.
