Description
1929 $5 Indian, PCGS MS62,
Key date, Old Holder,
Very Few Marks
Certification: 8533.62/20120892
Lovely natural Orange Peel color!
The coin is remarkably appealing for the MS62 grade,
showing few singular abrasions, save for some light marks.
The 1929 Indian half eagle boasts a mintage of 662,000 pieces,
but the vast majority of those coins were never released to circulation.
The Treasury gold melts of the mid-1930s limited
the survivorship of this issue to just a few hundred pieces that had been distributed through official channels
to collectors, assay remainders, and the Mint Cashier.
Today, the 1929 is one of the biggest challenges to a complete date and mintmark set of this series.
