PCGS AU58 Rare coin

 BD-5, Extra Star

Certification: 45739.58/49853296

Type 2 Heraldic Eagle

This variety is best known for the anomalous 14th star (BD-5) placed incongruously on the far-right cloud.

This partly lustrous ten-dollar gold piece is well-struck overall.

Liberty's cheek and the eagle's breast feathers exhibit a hint of friction, precluding a full Mint State assessment.

The coin retains a lovely orange gold which is evenly distributed.

PCGS Population is 4 in this grade with 5 higher.
