The bezel tests 52% gold using an XRF metals analyzer, a little over 12k gold.
The gross weight of the brooch is 15.5 grams.
The bezel is a thick gold frame with fancy metalwork around the edges.
The cameo is a hand-carved conch shell, very fine detail and finish.
There is a small diamond in the cameo necklace.
The cameo can also be worn as a pendant by attaching a chain through the bail ring at the top.
Overall brooch dimensions are 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide.
